Vice President of the Institute becomes MBE in Queens Birthday Honours List

The Institute is pleased to announce that Ian Dolben, a longstanding member and past Chair of the Institute has been awarded an MBE for services to the environment in the Queens Birthday Honours list published today. Ian has been a member of the Institute for over 40 years and currently serves on the Council of the Institute and and is Director of Finance.

Ian said “I have worked with many hundreds of fisheries professionals during my career and regard this award as recognition of the work they all do to create, maintain and improve fisheries in the UK and overseas. Their knowledge and understanding of fisheries management is vital to the success of sustainable fisheries, and, in my view, it is essential to act on advice from fisheries professionals for example when management proposals regarding wider aquatic ecology are made.”
