Invitation to apply for the Role of Director/Trustee and Job Description
Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Director/Trustee to the Wild Trout Trust.
Closing Date: 17.00 on 10 February 2026, with applicants notified of our decision before 17.00 on 13 February 2026. A first round of interviews will be held on Teams at an arranged time on 16 and 17 February 2026.
Salary: Pro Bono
Time Commitment: Approx. 1–2 days per month on average (including 4 board meetings a year with an expectation that you attend at least 50% of these in person).
Location: UK-wide, though Board meetings usually in London or on Teams.
Term: Initial appointment three-years which may be extended.
About the Wild Trout Trust
The Wild Trout Trust (WTT) is a registered charity (no. 1162478 and charitable company no.
03345901 in England and Wales) with a passion for inspiring and helping everyone to improve river habitat in practical ways, with a focus on wild brown trout; after all, flourishing wild trout populations means a water body that is great also for other wildlife. We have a vibrant team of experts who provide valued habitat enhancement advice to landowners, community groups, government agencies and fishing clubs across the UK, in accordance with the charity’s Articles of Association (see Appendix 1 below). Our main objective is to:
‘Advance public education in the promotion of conservation for the public benefit of wild trout and their habitats, ecosystems and environment; river and water conservation and management and creation of wild trout habitats’
