Water Management Operative

Due to expansion, AGA Group are looking to add 2 new operatives to their Water Management Team.

You will be part of a team delivering a variety of environmental enhancement projects including, river, pond & lake restoration works as well as fishery management duties.

 

The company carries out its work across all regions of the UK, so therefore working away from home is often required from Monday – Friday. Accommodation will be arranged and paid for by the company. A lodge payment will also be paid at the end of each month for each night spent away.

The Ideal Candidate will

  • Deliver all site requirements as instructed by management.
  • Adhere to Company Policies, Codes of Practice and carry out the work in a safe and effective manner
  • Adopt best environmental practices as directed.
  • Have a willingness to listen, take instruction and work as part of a team.
  • Have a good practical ability and a keen interest
  • Be reliable and be able to work on own initiative

 

Requirements

  • UK Driving license (No driving bans)
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • Awareness of environmental issues
  • Physically fit and highly motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills

 

Desirable

  • Hold a CSCS card
  • Experience using equipment such as landscaping tractors, chainsaws and strimmers
  • Hold a NPTC Herbicide card

Duties

  • Implementing the treatment of both non-native and invasive aquatic plants and algae using various processes
  • Administering the application of water treatment to lakes
  • Being responsible for the installation of fish habitat to ponds, lakes and rivers
  • Installation and maintenance of pond equipment, such as pumps, fountain, and filtration systems
  • Completing fish surveys and fish removals using seine net and electro-fishing methodology

Salary Range & Benefits

  • £20,500.00 – £24,000.00 (dependent on experience)
