Our Policy lead, Marcus McAuley, is a member of the OEP College of Experts and uses this vehicle to further the aims of the IFM through informing selected OEP investigations and reviews. Over the past year the OEP has worked diligently to expand its reach and impact, and the input the College of Experts has provided has been a key part of this. The OEP has now finalised its annual report on government’s progress with the Environmental Improvement Plan, which is set to be laid in Parliament and published on 16 January. Additionally, the College of Experts has supported the OEP team in producing several other significant pieces of work, including a review of the key legislation regarding water quality – the Water Framework Directive (WFD) Regulations for England and NI- and how they are being implemented by Defra and Daera through River Basin Management Planning (RBMP).
