Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency responsible for the protection, management and conservation of Ireland’s inland fisheries and sea angling resources.

The Research Officer will be responsible for the day to day delivery of part of Inland Fisheries Ireland’s Water Framework Directive fish monitoring programme. He/she will supervise and carry out the necessary fish stock surveys using standard European fish sampling methodologies and compile relevant biotic and abiotic information for a range of waterbodies.

This is a front-line leadership role and the successful candidate will have project management experience including managing teams, and will have demonstrated networking and communication skills. The role also requires candidates to have demonstrable experience of field survey and data collection in water / outdoors and experience in fish ageing.
