As the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Fisheries & the Natural Environment you’ll provide the direction to our fisheries, biodiversity and geomorphology strategy. You will work with a range of partners in voluntary and statutory organisations which will enable these organisations to achieve their goals, while ensuring the Environment Agency meets its objectives, too.

Setting the strategic direction, you’ll hold the power to significantly influence the future direction of the Environment Agency’s contribution to the protection and improvement of the natural environment. Making sure we maintain strong relationships with our partners is essential. A strong, direct leader, you’ll listen and acknowledge concerns they may have in a sensitive manner– but will be confident in your ability to stand firm on what you feel is right. As well as developing advice and guidance for external partners, you’ll also develop strategies for maximising income – ensuring efficient spend to deliver objectives and outcomes. The decisions you make will create and engender change within the Environment Agency and you’ll play an essential role in helping us prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. This is an incredible opportunity to make your mark, not only on our organisation, but on the natural environment.
