Next start date: December 16th
The Institute is pleased to collaborate with the Association of IFCAs on the second series of briefings for IFCA members and officers.
These briefings are designed to provide members and officers with the opportunity to:
a) engage with recognised experts in marine and fisheries policy, enhancing their understanding of issues relevant to their role within the IFCA; and
b) share their own knowledge, skills, and experience to support their professional development, strengthen their contribution as members and promote the exchange of best practice across the network.
The briefings will be held virtually over Zoom and will be no longer than 90 minutes in length. Interested members and officers must register in advance to be sent the joining details.

16th December 12:30 - 13:30
Our third talk for 2025 will be focussing on the Women in Fisheries Network.
This will be presented by Stephanie Lucas from Women in Fisheries. The briefing will be Chaired by Emily Bulled from AIFCA.
Stephanie is the Network Coordinator for UK Women in Fisheries, drawing on her background in girls’ STEM projects, project management, partnerships and publishing. She is most proud of developing the network’s partnership structure and member benefits, and of working alongside the inspiring women who make up its community across the coasts of the UK. When not working, she'll be found walking the coast path with her dog (who regularly makes appearances in virtual meetings!)
UK Women in Fisheries is a network for all women who work in UK fishing, be they vessel owners, fleet managers, fishermen, fishmongers, processors, fishing conservationists, charity workers, trainers or workers somewhere else in the fishing industry.
You can find out more about them and their work on their website
