The Future for the Thames Tideway byAlex Nickson (Water Resources & Growth Lead, Thames Water) & Katherine Riggs (Director, Thames Vision, PLA)

The Thames Tideway is the busiest waterway in the UK and is internationally important for its heritage, biodiversity and wildlife. It is at its cleanest since the Industrial Revolution and great efforts have been made to improve habitats and biodiversity, but major challenges still exist.

Alex will introduce the Tideway and on-going initiatives like the Thames Tunnel, leading to discussion of how Thames Water is planning to meet future water quality, resource and environmental challenges. Katherine will then discuss the ambitions of the PLA and stakeholders in the Thames Vision for greater sustainable use of the Thames and some early results of this 20 year project.
