The IFM Greater London & SE Branch daytime visit to a beautiful saltmarsh on the Blackwater Estuary in Essex. This marsh is the site of a unique managed-realignment project and studies of the importance of salt marshes for fish, especially as nursery areas for juveniles of marine flatfish, sea bass and other species.

The day will involve not only a guided site visit and fish sampling but also a delightful local seafood lunch at the Essex Wildlife Trust offices at Abbotts Hall Farm, near Malden.

Further details are given on the flyer attached. There will be a nominal charge towards food and facilities of £5.00 per head. There will be our usual charge of £10.00 for non-members. We have been asked to limit the party size to 20, so attendance will be on a ‘first come – first served’ basis. Please respond to the Hon. Sec., Steve Colclough (srcifm@gmail.com) as soon as possible to book your place and receive further details.
