Definition of Favourable Conservation Status for European sturgeon, Acipenser sturio L. and Atlantic sturgeon, Acipenser oxyrinchus M.

Natural England have recently produced a new document to set out their view on favourable conservation status for both European and Atlantic sturgeon in England

Favourable conservation status is the minimum threshold at which we can be confident

that the two species are thriving in England and are expected to continue to thrive

sustainably in the future.

This was produced with the support of the UK Sturgeon Alliance which includes the IFM
