The 53rd Annual Conference for the Institute of Fisheries Management

After 18 difficult months we felt the time was now right for us to host our 52nd Annual Conference. Our last formal conference was our 50th anniversary celebrations in Nottingham which was an great few days in Nottingham, and afloat on the Trent.

Last year for our 51st event we held a virtual Festival of Fisheries which saw delegates from around the world join us for two weeks of mini-conferences.

The conference will be hosted by the Southern Branch and will held at the National Oceanography Centre on November 24th -25th.

The theme for this year’s conference is Future Challenges

The branch has put together a fantastic programme of talks that incorporates sessions from the freshwater, transitional and marine environments. Conference sessions will cover a wide range of topics over the three days including

  • Policy Developments
  • Habitat and Challenges (double session)
  • Climate Change
  • Technology in Fisheries
  • Invasive Species Impacts
  • Passage and Migration
  • Technology - Monitoring

The conference programme can be downloaded here

The Wednesday evening will be the traditional IFM Annual Dinner and Awards which will be held at the Dancing Man Brewery in their 14th century former WoolHouse. This is an evening not to be missed.

Please note the conference dinner must be booked separately

Please note the conference fee does not include accommodation. There are dozens of options available within walking distance of the venue
